A Private Houston to Galveston Shuttle — Not a Shared Van
Most "Houston to Galveston shuttle" services sell you a seat on a shared van that stops at several hotels and leaves on a fixed schedule. Our shuttle is private: the vehicle is yours, it leaves when you are ready, and it goes straight to your ship.
| What you get | LimoAtHouston private shuttle | Typical shared shuttle |
|---|---|---|
| Who rides with you | Only your own group | Other cruise passengers |
| Departure time | Your time, around your flight or hotel checkout | Fixed departure times |
| Stops on the way | None — straight to your terminal | Several airport and hotel pickups |
| Pickup point | Airport curb, any Houston hotel, or your front door | Set pickup points only |
| Flight delays | We track your flight and adjust the pickup | Miss the van, wait for the next one |
| Pricing | Per vehicle — the more people, the less each pays | Per person |
| Luggage help | Yes, chauffeur loads and unloads | Varies |
When does a private shuttle cost less?
Because you pay for the vehicle, not the seat, a private ride gets cheaper per person as your group grows. A private van for 6 passengers starts at $175 one way, which is about $30 per person. A 14-passenger Sprinter starts at $325, or about $23 per person for a full group. For families, friends traveling together, and wedding or reunion groups, that is often the same as — or less than — buying individual seats on a shared van, and you skip every extra stop.
Traveling alone or as a couple and mainly watching the budget? A shared shuttle can be the cheaper choice. If you want a guaranteed time, a direct ride, and no waiting for strangers, a private sedan or SUV is worth it.
Galveston Cruise Transportation From Anywhere in Houston
Whether you land at an airport on sailing day, stay the night in a Houston hotel, or live in the suburbs, we pick you up where you are and drive you directly to the Port of Galveston.
From IAH (Bush Intercontinental)
IAH is about 70 miles from the cruise port, usually 75 to 90 minutes by road depending on traffic through Houston. Your chauffeur tracks your flight, meets you at your terminal (A through E), helps with your bags, and drives straight down I-45 to the port.
From Hobby Airport (HOU)
Hobby is the closer airport, about 45 miles from the port and usually around an hour's drive. If you have the choice when booking flights, Hobby gives you a shorter ride and more breathing room on sailing day.
From Houston Hotels
Flying in the day before? We pick up from any hotel in Downtown Houston, the Galleria, the Texas Medical Center, the Energy Corridor, and the airport hotels. Most Downtown and Galleria hotels are about an hour from the port.
From Your Home
Live in the Houston area? Skip the cruise parking lot. We pick you up at your front door and bring you home again after your cruise, so your car stays safely in your garage all week.

Direct Drop-Off at Every Galveston Cruise Terminal
The Port of Galveston has four main cruise terminals along Harborside Drive. We drop off and pick up at all of them, right at the passenger entrance with your luggage.
| Cruise line | Usual terminal | Transfer guide |
|---|---|---|
| Royal Caribbean | Terminal 10 | Royal Caribbean transfers |
| Carnival | Terminal 25 (some sailings Terminal 28) | Carnival transfers |
| Disney Cruise Line | Terminal 28 | Disney transfers |
| MSC Cruises | Terminal 16 | MSC transfers |
| Norwegian | Terminal 16 or 28, depending on the ship | Norwegian transfers |
| Princess | Terminal 28 — no Galveston sailings Nov 2026 – Mar 2027 | Princess transfers |
Terminal assignments can change from season to season. Always check the terminal on your boarding pass and tell us when you book — your chauffeur will take you to the right door.
Why the right terminal matters
Terminal 10 sits at the east end of the port, while Terminals 25 and 28 are about a mile to the west and Terminal 16 is in between. On a busy Saturday or Sunday, when several ships sail on the same day, traffic on Harborside Drive backs up and a wrong turn can cost real time. Our chauffeurs know the port's drop-off lanes, so they know where to unload and how to get you in line quickly.
The Right Vehicle for Your Cruise Group and Luggage
Cruise travelers pack more than airport travelers — formal clothes, beach gear, and often a week or two of luggage. Pick by bags as well as people, and if you are unsure, tell us your group size and number of suitcases and we will recommend the right vehicle.
Executive Sedan — up to 2 passengers
A private black car for couples and solo travelers with up to 2 large suitcases. Quiet, comfortable, and the simplest way to start a cruise vacation. From $175 one way.
Passenger Van — up to 6 passengers

A black luxury SUV for 6 passengers and 6 bags, for families and couples who want a more premium ride to the ship. From $200 one way.
Chevrolet Suburban — up to 7 passengers
Our most requested cruise vehicle: seats 7 with room for 6 bags, ideal for larger families and multi-generation trips. From $225 one way.
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter — up to 14 passengers
One vehicle for the whole group and every suitcase — 14 passengers and 14 bags. Perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, and friends sailing together. From $325 one way.
Mini Bus & Coach — 20 to 28 passengers
For large cruise groups, an executive mini bus seats up to 20 (from $525) and a coach up to 28 (from $650). Groups of 29 or more can call for a charter bus quote.
Photos, seating and interior details for every vehicle are on our fleet page. Child car seats are available for $15 each — tell us the number and type when you book.

Houston to Galveston on Cruise Day: Timing Guide
The most common worry we hear is "will we make the ship?" Here is how to plan your timing, based on years of driving cruise passengers from Houston to the port.
When should I leave Houston for the cruise port?
Your cruise line gives you a check-in or arrival time — follow it. Boarding usually runs from late morning to early afternoon, and you must be on board well before departure. Work backwards from your arrival time and allow for the drive:
| Starting from | Distance to port | Usual drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Hobby Airport (HOU) | About 45 miles | About 1 hour |
| Downtown Houston | About 50 miles | About 1 hour |
| Galleria / Uptown | About 55 miles | About 1 hour 10 minutes |
| IAH (Bush Intercontinental) | About 70 miles | 75 to 90 minutes |
| Spring / The Woodlands | 80 to 90 miles | About 1.5 to 2 hours |
| Katy / Sugar Land | 60 to 75 miles | About 1 to 1.5 hours |
Drive times are without heavy traffic. On weekday rush hours, holiday weekends, and busy sailing days, add 30 to 45 minutes. We plan your pickup time with this buffer built in.
Flying in on sailing day? Read this first
Many travelers land at IAH or Hobby on the morning of the cruise. It can work, but a delayed flight is the number one reason people miss a ship. If you fly in the same day, choose a flight that lands by late morning, keep your carry-on with your cruise documents and medicine, and share your flight number when you book so we can track it. The safest plan is to fly in the day before, stay at a Houston or Galveston hotel, and let us pick you up the next morning.
Disembarkation day: getting home from the ship
Ships usually return to Galveston early in the morning, and guests leave the ship in groups over a few hours. When you book your return, tell us your ship and whether you plan to walk off early with your own bags or wait for your luggage tags to be called. We time your pickup to match, and your free waiting time at the port is 30 minutes. For flights home, we recommend booking a departure from Hobby after about noon, or from IAH after about 1:00 p.m., to leave room for disembarkation and the drive.
Why not just drive and park at the port?
Driving yourself means paying for a week or more of cruise parking, finding the right lot, and then driving back to Houston tired after your trip. With a private shuttle, you are dropped at the terminal door with your bags, and someone else handles the drive home. If your group would need two or three cars
